My Qualifications
In July 2026 I completed the three year shiatsu course at the Manchester Shiatsu College and now have the MRSS qualification (Member of the Register of the Shiatsu Society). The course involved at least 1000 hours of study, carried out over 32 weekends, a longer residential, and a great deal of home study. Home study included anatomy and physiology and assignments on key concepts and history of shiatsu and traditional Chinese medicine. The course also involved completing over 200 practice shiatsu treatments on volunteers and clients, including some observed by teachers in a clinic. It was both challenging and delightful.

My other qualifications include a BA from Cambridge in Mathematics and Philosophy, an MA from Sussex in Intellectual History, a PGCE from Sussex, an MSc in Statistics with Statistical Education from Sheffield Hallam University, and an FHEA (fellow of the higher education academy).
