About me
Three years ago I went on an introductory shiatsu weekend out of curiosity, fell in love with the practice and signed up on the spot for a three year course with the Manchester Shiatsu College. And now I'm a fully qualified shiatsu practitioner, which is a surprising but delightful direction for my life. The course overlapped with the last two years before retirement from my job as a university lecturer. In that job I was teaching and supporting young people becoming teachers. So I am making changes in my life, but there are common elements of listening carefully, supporting and helping people to overcome hurdles and achieve their potential.

I'm someone who enjoys being outside, walking or swimming at all times of year. I also love dancing and yoga. There's a theme of body awareness in both dance and yoga, and I love the way that combines with what I learn in shiatsu. My ability to feel and observe subtle movements in my own body and those of others develops in all these practices and is one of the things I love about shiatsu. There's always something new to discover in our bodies and minds.
